This might be overly simplistic, but perhaps PJ learned from themselves being involved in one of the world’s worst concert disasters, whereas Travis still thinks that seething anger among a majority young male audience is the winning formula? But you’re right, Eddie got everything right on Friday (including a 59-year-old larynx that has mostly retained its range and power).

No I think that's very true - there was a duty of care there that was on display by Pearl Jam: they way Eddie checked in on the crowds, interacted with fans, and weaved slower songs and faster ones together. Elderly woman... played as No. 2 - who would have picked that?!

Travis just ... assaulted us.

My friend back in 98 at Pearl Jam was involved in a pretty scary moment where a whole lot of people fell over in the mosh pit. They stopped on a dime so everyone could get up and calm things down. Probably saved a whole heap of lives. Even before Roskilde they took it seriously. Because they genuinely care.

Travis Scott (similar to Limp Bizkit) seems to just not give a flying one
