I’m so excited about Meow Nui - not just because of how much we need a venue like it in Poneke but also because Rah and Damian are awesome people who really really care about the creative community. They’ve been a huge support to so many in the community - hosting fundraisers for no charge, hosting the Verb festival, I’ve had so many great gigs there.

From the ethereal light drinking qualities of stained glass to the sound bending powers of exposed timber beams - Meow Nui is a resurrection that I can believe in.

When it comes to love of music and family, it is certainly my experience that behind every good act there is an undeniable dedication to sympathetic support.

Sending you and your mum only the good vibrations, Chris.

Great article.

I did not know about this new venue but as a middle aged dad who’s getting to more gigs as my kids get older I am all up for this! I went to see J Mascis when in Dublin recently, similar size by the looks with up upstairs and it was a revelation to just wander upstairs and perch over the balcony.

Home Brew have just announced a show there on September 7 - would be a great way to check it out!

Thanks Taunton, yeah it's genuinely exciting and I love how it could help bring more acts over our way. We've definitely been missing out on a bunch of stuff lately.

I love those ceilings too! Gonna be a great venue...
